Culturescaping

Files, descriptions, and missions strategy on the American people groups and population segments particularly focused on Mississippi but with general application for all of the USA.

  • Thinking Missionally
What does it mean to Break the Missional Code? What is “the Code” and its implications for effectively reaching America with the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
Prayerfully, these files will challenge contemporary church philosophies and strategies and facilitate the re-awakening of God’s people to fulfill their missional calling.
  • Cultural Catalog
Mission Strategy documents targeting some 16+ English speaking population segments that exist in America and the 75+ major people groups.
  • Demographic Links

    • http://www.mla.org/map_main - this is the language map of the us. You can scan in and see the map of most of the main languages in the US. There is also a data set that can be filtered to let you see language stats in your community.

    • http://www.missionalzipcode.com/index.php - get detailed population segment information at the zip code level as well as marketing data and some spiritual analysis of each segment. Also will return the top 10 segments in any zip code. This is a brand new site, so not all of it is up yet, but does have most of the demographic data.

    • www.peoplegroups.org – the IMB people group database

    • www.peoplegroups.info – the NAMB people group database

    • www.sbcdata.org – the website for the SBC data consortium – a group of demographic geeks from various SBC entities (state conventions, etc) who compile demographic data most of their time.

    • www.languagemissionssbc.net or www.taethne.net – the national site for the SBC language leaders group. Resources that we have created for various language groups are uploaded here. Site is fairly new, but is being populated with things regularly. We welcome any resource others might wish to contribute.

    • www.link2lead.com – the PERCEPT demographic data base.  Some data anyone can access, the rest requires membership. Check with your association or convention or denominational agency for details. They also have an area where they plot most of the evangelical churches in an area on a map. VERY USEFUL.
